Blood in the urine, ed loss of appetite and lower back pain may be signs of kidney cancer, according to the president of SBOC (Brazilian Society of Clinical Oncology), Evanius Wiermann.

“Generally tumors or kidney problems, tadalafil like the polycystic kidney, are only diagnosed in routine exams because they do not present clear symptoms. Some signs may alert you to the disease, such as blood in the urine, low back pain on one side, lump on the side or lower back, fatigue, loss of appetite, weight loss, fever, anemia.

Kidney cancer occurs in 2% to 3% of malignant tumors in adults and is the most lethal of urological tumors, with the possibility of death between 30% and 40% of all cases. On March 12, World Kidney Day, Fátima Abreu, a nephrologist at Lavoisier Medicina Diagnóstica, called attention to the need for hydration, good nutrition and physical activity to prevent cancer and other kidney diseases. In addition, according to her, these habits reduce the incidence of diabetes and high blood pressure, which according to the Brazilian Society of Nephrology are among the main causes of kidney problems in Brazil and in the world.

“As the loss of kidney function in general is progressive and silent, the diagnosis is often made in the final stage of the disease when symptoms tend to appear. It is therefore very important to perform kidney function tests periodically, especially those with hypertension, diabetes or people with chronic kidney relatives. ”

In order to raise awareness among the population, the Space Life Institute distributed informational leaflets and water bottles at the São Paulo Metro Brás Station, between 6am and 11am.
