The World Health Organization (WHO) published recommendations for the optimal intensity of physical activity according to age Children and adolescents should participate in play, games, sports, physical education and recreation activities that involve and locomotion, with family, friends and colleagues.
Who is this age group should practice at least 60 minutes of daily physical activity, are moderate (walking to school, recreational games) or intense (running, athletics), totaling 300 minutes of physical activity a week.
For those who have 18-64 years, the WHO recommends a week, 150 minutes of moderate activity or 75 minutes of intense activity. Among the alternatives are walking, cycling, doing housework, playing games and sports. The activities should be carried out in periods of at least 10 minutes long.
From the age of 65, WHO recommends the realization of moderate physical activity similar to the previous age group, preferably in a group, three days a week, at least which changes according to the health and mobility each one. In general, a week are sufficient 150 minutes of moderate activity, or 75 minutes of intense activity. For all ages, it is a reminder that the increase in physical activity time enhances the results.
